It is with great sadness that I have learnt today that Veronika has passed away. We were in a comic book scriptwriting group together and we had been worried because we hadn’t heard from her for months. I am devastated to know that I will never see her again, but grateful for the kindness she showed us ever since we met. She had great sensitivity and a gentle, welcoming strength. Thank you, Veronika.
Please pass on my condolences to her loved ones, including her daughter, whom we met a few times with the others from the writing group.
I hope Veronika didn’t suffer too much towards the end. I will always remember her last piece published on this website, ‘Letter to the Writer’. Thank you for your enthusiasm and generosity, Veronika.
